This is the fifth ferry during this trip, it rocks hard despite the nice sunny weather. Every day we do several dozen, sometimes several hundred kilometers on often poor quality roads, mountainous, sometimes in the sun but sometimes in the rain. So far the meter shows 2600 km, different islands each have their own individual character…

Route Bima – Sumbawa Besar

Flores Lebuan Bajo – Sape Sumbawa by ferry and road to Bima

Flooded roads, steep climbs and gravel or stone surface. About 20 km shortly after leaving Reo there is a terrible road, it took us over 3 hours to drive this section. We almost lost our laptops and electronics in general, the water flooded the seat but didn’t manage to get to the trunk underneath. Unfortunately, the scooter stopped starting after being flooded, it was necessary to dry the cables and clean the flooded exhaust. Unfortunately, there was no turning back – it was too late to return because we would have to get through water about 80 cm deep, which we unknowingly crossed not yet knowing what awaited us next. Google maps indicated a 4-hour journey and it ended in 7. The situation was tense, the navigation showed 100 km and the locals confirmed that the road ahead was just as hopeless but there was no other unless it was 4 times longer through the mountains in the south of the island…
